Members with extraordinary expenses that effectively reduce their family income to the poverty level also qualify for the $5 membership fee.

If you qualify for a COPAA scholarship and would like to receive one, please state on your membership application whether your family income is at or below the federal poverty level as outlined above. COPAA will accept your statement and will not require verification of income.

If your income is above the federal poverty level but you qualify because of extraordinary expenses such as medical bills, personal assistance services, tuition or legal fees incurred in the course of obtaining a free, appropriate public education for a child with disabilities, please provide a brief explanation of the nature of the expenses that effectively reduce your income to the poverty level.

To apply for a scholarship, please mail in a completed membership application, along with the information outlined above. You will be notified within one week whether your scholarship is granted. As with all COPAA memberships, membership privileges will begin after a signed membership application and payment are received and processed.
